There will be a new addition to the ICS leadership team when Matthew Tait starts his interim role as Deputy ICS Lead/Director of CCG Transformation on 6th July.

Mathew has been seconded from NHS England where he is the South East Regional ICS Development Director. Matthew brings with him a wealth of health and care experience to the Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire and Berkshire West patch, which will be of great benefit.

Before joining NHS England/Improvement, Matthew was the joint Accountable Officer across the three Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), overseeing their merger to a single CCG in April. Before joining Surrey Matthew was Accountable Officer at Bedfordshire CCG. Colleagues who have worked locally for a number of years will also know Matthew from his time as Area Director for NHS England Thames Valley and the Primary Care Trusts Cluster Chief Executive Officer for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Speaking of his forthcoming secondment, Matthew praised the progress made to date across the ICS; “The strong foundations you’ve built have been evident in how partners have come together to meet the challenges of Covid-19.

I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the health and care system in the coming weeks and months, to share my learning and experience from Surrey Heartlands and to learn from you.”
